Poland: first volumes of domestic plums 50% less expensive year-on-year
The Polish market participants say of arrival of first volumes of domestic plums in the country.
For the present, the supply of plums is limited with Cacanska Rana, Herman and Ruth Gerstetter varieties offered in the majority of cases.
Thanks to favorable weather conditions, Polish growers started the season earlier than in 2013. At the same time, current prices are averagely 50% lower compared with the same period of the previous season.
For the present, growers offer their plums at 0.24-0.97 euro/kg, depending on variety and quality. For comparison, prices were not lower than 0.53 euro/kg in the beginning of the season 2013.
