Poland: production of Red Jonaprince apples up
According to WAPA data, Poland's production of Red Jonaprince apples will reach 30,000 tons in the season 2014/15, an increase of 50% year-on-year.
The Polish market experts say of Red Jonaprince to have become popular in Poland only several years ago, and a significant increase in its production is connected with new orchards coming into bearing in the country.
Nevertheless, the Red Jonaprince variety will account for only 1% of Poland's total apple production. At the same time, Poland will account for the share of about 30% in the total production of Red Jonaprince apples in Europe.
