Russia: apple prices significantly up year-on-year
The Russian market participants say of a significant increase in apple prices compared with the same period of the previous season.
For the present, Russian growers offer apples at RUB 20-35/kg (USD 0.49-0.85/kg), depending on variety, quality and shipment volume, an increase of 35-40% year-on-year.
The market experts connect such a price situation with the ban on imports of Polish and Moldovan apples, which were the main competitors to domestic produce in autumn.
