Rosselkhoznadzor says Macedonia has a week to prove origin of exported fruits, vegetables

Russia's veterinary and phytosanitary watchdog (Rosselkhoznadzor) gave Macedonia a week to provide previously requested materials about exported quarantineable goods control system and several phytosanitary certifications authentications to end suspicion of re-exporting European fruits and vegetables, said Mr. Aleskey Saurin, Deputy Chief of Rosselkhoznadzor, during the meeting with Mr. Jani Bogoevski, Charge d'affaires at Embassy of Macedonia to Russia.

«Mr. Saurin expressed deep concern over a sharp increase in exports of quarantineable goods from Macedonia to Russia. Rosselkhoznadzor experts suspect the authenticity of phytosanitary certificates accompanying shipments», the statement said.

In the event that the provided information is insufficient or inadequate, Rosselkhoznadzor may consider imposition of restrictions on shipments of Macedonian crop products to Russia.
