Poland: demand for domestic pears down

The demand for domestic pears has significantly gone down in Poland due to lower supply of produce and its worse quality.

In view of Russia's ban on imports, Polish farmers decided not to risk and considerably reduced their storage volumes. In addition, they spent less for produce handling, which negatively affected the quality of last volumes.

According to Polish growers, the demand for Conference pears fell the most, which, however, still had no effect on prices. For the present, farmers offer those pears at 0.29-0.47 euro/kg, depending on variety and quality.
