Ukraine: prices of Idared apples up by a third in Kiev since beginning of this week
Prices of Idared apples keep on rapidly growing at Stolychnyi Wholesale Market, Kiev, and have jumped averagely by a third since the beginning of this week.
Now sellers ship Idared apples at UAH 16-20/kg (EUR 0.62-0.77/kg), depending on quality. For comparison, prices were not higher than UAH 16/kg (EUR 0.62/kg) in the end of the previous week.
Prices have been growing in Ukraine due to a steady increase in the price levels fixed in Poland, currently largest supplier of apples to Ukraine. It should also be noted that current prices of Idared apples in Kiev are averagely 2.5 times as high as registered in late April 2014.
