Apples remain most exported fruit in Ukraine

Apples remain the most exported fruit category in Ukraine. The market analysts estimate the Ukrainian fresh apple exports to be no lower than 60,000 tons in the previous season.

Watermelons rank second, and their annual export volumes exceed 22,000 tons. Sweet cherries are the third most exported fruit with the exports annually totaling 4,000-5,000 tons.

Exports of other fruit and berry categories are significantly lower. For example, the Ukrainian annual pear exports do not exceed 2,000 tons as well as melon ones. Strawberry exports reach just 500 tons, and the same volumes are shipped by sour cherry exporters. Exports of currants, raspberries, stonefruits and grapes are extremely low.

We would remind you that more detailed information about the Ukrainian apple market developments will be presented at the 5th International Conference «Apple Business of Ukraine-2015», which is going to take place on August 13-14, Kleopatra Hotel, Kamyanets-Podilskyi, Ukraine.
