Crimea: white cabbage sellers forced to reduce their prices due to low demand

Low sales rates force Crimean sellers to reduce their white cabbage prices. According to Fruit-Inform, current prices are already 18% lower week-on-week.

In particular, sellers at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market, Simferopol, are ready to ship white cabbages at RUB 12-18/kg (USD 0.19-0.29/kg), depending on quality and variety. For comparison, minimum prices stood at RUB 16/kg (USD 0.26/kg) a week before.

Negative pricing trend is connected with low demand for white cabbages in the peninsula. Buyers often are unsatisfied with quality produce, as nonstandard white cabbages now account for a large part of supply.

It should also be noted that current prices are 15% lower year-on-year, and the market participants expect a further decrease in them, as the supply of white cabbages significantly prevails over the demand.
