Maersk opens through connection Morocco-Hamburg

The company Maersk Line informed about the opening of a new through connection between Morocco and Hamburg. On the 26th of January 2008 the company will initiate the through weekly call to Hamburg port in the framework of KNSM service which connects Northern Europe and Morocco. LLC "PortNews" provided this information with the reference to Maersk press service.

In December 2007 Maersk activated the third vessel on the line in order to provide the accuracy of the schedule and stable weekly service (in particular, it relates to the harvesting season in Morocco).

KNSM service provides a number of popular services: weekly service from Morocco to Northern Europe for export supplies of Moroccan fruits and vegetables; the through service Rotterdam - Casablanca; the through service Morocco - Great Britain; joint with feed chain of the company in Northern Europe through Bremerhafen.

In future, the service rotation will include Rotterdam (Netherlands), Bremerhafen (Germany), Hamburg (Germany), Casablanca (Morocco), Agadir (Morocco) and Portsmouth (Great Britain). Maersk Ferrol will be the first vessel in a new KNSM rotation - it will arrive to Rotterdam on the 23rd of January.
