Ukrainian fresh produce price index down for fourth week in a row

Fruit-Inform Ukrainian fresh produce price index went down by 2.8% last week, after a fall of more than 45% over the previous three weeks.

«Traditional vegetables and potatoes made the largest contribution to a decrease in the price index last week. At the same time, the price situation in the segment of seasonal vegetables was mixed: some categories became more expensive», says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. «The fruit price index also became lower thanks to higher supply of apples, melons and watermelons».

The sharpest decrease in prices was registered in the segments of onions and carrots that led to a fall of 18.9% in the price index of traditional vegetables.
