Ukraine not to provide crop data to Russia

According to UNIAN, Ukraine will not provide the Russian Federation with the information, requested by Russia’s veterinary and phyto-sanitary watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor to confirm production regions of the crops supplied by Ukrainian companies to the Russian market, said Mr. Igor Shvayka, Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.

«Under conditions of war, the Russian Federation has addressed to our authorities with the request of the information on the crop areas, yields and production regions in Ukraine. Supplying such information under conditions of war means to voluntarily assist the country, which conducts military intervention», said Mr. Shvayka commenting Rosselkhoznadzor's decision to ban crop imports from Ukraine due to denial of providing the information.

The Minister also pointed out that the majority of Russian laboratories were able to identify origin of products, and that did not need any additional information.

At the same time, Mr. Shvayka again said of the necessity to adopt retaliatory measures of tightened veterinary and phytosanitary control over Russian products supplied to Ukraine.

As it was earlier informed, Rosselkhoznadzor has imposed temporary restrictions on imports and transit of crop products from Ukraine allegedly due to Ukrainian exporters' multiple violations of the Customs Union's laws. Russia's watchdog suspects Ukraine of re-exporting crop products from the EU countries, which imports are banned in Russia. Rosselkhoznadzor also said of detecting quarantine objects in Ukrainian products supplied to Russia.
