Ukraine: pear prices in Khmelnytskyi up by 25% year-on-year

Pear prices have gone up by 25% year-on-year at Dubovo Wholesale Market, Khmelnytskyi (western part of Ukraine).

For the present, traders are ready to ship pears at UAH 26-35/kg (EUR 0.35-0.47/kg), depending on variety, quality and country of origin. For comparison, pears were offered at no higher than UAH 28/kg (EUR 0.37/kg) in the same period of the previous season.

Year-on-year growth is registered due to the devaluation of the Ukrainian hryvnia, which has led to an increase in prices of imports that currently account for the largest part of the pear supply in Ukraine.
