Armenia almost doubles fruit and vegetable exports since beginning of 2015

Armenia's fruit and vegetable exports have almost doubled since the beginning of the year 2015. As of October 07, exports totaled 61,000 tons against just slightly more than 36,000 in the same period of the previous season.

Armenia's agricultural ministry specified that exports of grapes to Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Belarus stood at 5,700 tons, up from 4,481 tons exported during the same time span of 2014. About 84% of exported fruits and vegetables went to the Russian market, the ministry said.

According to the National Statistical Service, agricultural output in the first 8 months of 2015 amounted to 522.4 billion drams, having increased by 13.9% when compared to the same period last year. ($ 1- 473.45 drams).
