Crimea: Chinese cabbage prices up

Prices of Chinese cabbage have been growing in Crimea, according to Fruit-Inform. As a result, produce has already become 60% more expensive since the beginning of this year.

Sellers had to reduce their prices in the first week of January, as the demand for Chinese cabbage had fallen after the holidays. However, trading rates have gone up again in the following week and are rather active now.

Meanwhile, local farms' stocks have been rapidly decreasing in the peninsula, and sellers manage to raise their prices. As a result, produce has become 14-17% more expensive in Crimea over the past week and now is offered at RUB 35-40/kg (USD 0.59-0.68/kg).

It should also be noted that Chinese cabbage prices are still 60% lower year-on-year in Crimea. However, sellers expect a decrease in supply to continue to back the price growth in the Crimean market.
