Retail price for early cabbage decreased down to $2.5/kg in Cherkasy oblast
According to the information provided by Sergey Strokan, the Market Information Specialist of Cherkasy office, Agricultural Marketing Project to "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, this week early cabbage supply has rapidly increased on retail markets. The prices are decreasing in this regard: at the present moment the retail price is down to the level of $2.5-2.7/kg.
Despite of the supply growth and price decline for early cabbage, the price for white cabbage of 2005 harvest has grown 15-20% during this week. But, the season for past year harvested cabbage is close to the end. The market players explain this fact by the limited supply of the quality cabbage of 2005 harvest on market, so the producers are able to preserve such a high price.
