Early cabbage prices remain stable in Odesa

Despite of the significant price drop for early cabbage observed in Kherson oblast past weekend, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal reports about stable prices for this commodity in Odesa oblast. The retail price for early cabbage is $0.29-0.39/kg on PRIVOZ central market in Odesa; the supplies are normal. The producers report about an average wholesale price $ 0.11/kg for the produce sold right out of field. This price level corresponds to the prices observed in the end of past week. However, market players point out the reduction of wholesale shipments of early potato supplied on market. They suppose, the producers have started to bring cabbage shipments to city markets themselves hoping for higher price. Also, the wholesalers are probably waiting until local market reacts to the price drop in Kherson oblast.
