Agriculture of Belarus in Jan-Apr 2002

According to calculations, the total output of all categories of Belorussian farms in January-April 2002 was US $441.6mn and rose 2.9% against the corresponding period of the previous year. Estimated growth during the first six months of 2002 was 4.1%, the newspaper "Byelorusskiy Rynok" reports.

The state farms sold 6% less livestock in live weight over the same period a year ago (209,300 MT). Milk production grew 11% - to 823,900 MT, eggs production decreased by 7% (43.7mn).
