Ukraine: pear prices down in Lviv
The Ukrainian market participants say of a week-on-week decrease of 25% in pear prices in Lviv (western region of Ukraine).
For the present, pears are offered at UAH 5-7/kg (EUR 0.29-0.41/kg) at Shuvar Wholesale Market, Lviv. A week before, sellers fixed prices at no lower than UAH 7-10/kg (EUR 0.41-0.59/kg). The negative price performance is connected with relatively low demand for pears in summer, when consumers prefer seasonal fruits.
It should be noted that current price levels are similar to those registered in the same period of the previous season.
