Poland doubles apple exports to Kazakhstan in October

Under conditions of Russia’s ban, Poland keeps on expanding its presence in the Kazakh apple market.

According to the official statistics, Poland has shipped 3,400 tons of apples to Kazakhstan in October 2014, 2.2 times as high as in the same month of the previous year.

Poland’s cumulative exports of apples to Kazakhstan in the first four months of the season 2014/15 totaled 11,000 tons, twice as high as in the same period of the previous season.

It should be noted that Kazakhstan can become one of the most important alternative markets for Polish apple exports in this season under conditions of the ban on imports introduced by Russia. However, the market analysts believe that an increase in exports to Kazakhstan will only slightly compensate a loss of the Russian market for Poland.
