Ukrainian growers raise apple prices thanks to instability in the foreign exchange market

Ukrainian growers keep on raising their apple prices thanks to further devaluation of the Ukrainian hryvnia, which has led to higher prices of imported produce.

As a result, prices of domestic apples have grown averagely by 25% over a week in Ukraine. For the present, farms are ready to ship apples at UAH 9-11/kg (EUR 0.24-0.29/kg), twice as high as registered in the same period of the previous season.

According to Ukrainian growers, the price growth is also backed by a seasonal decrease in apple stocks.
