Ukraine's potato exports reach record high in 2014
Ukraine's potato exports reached record high in 2014 with about a half of the export volumes to have been shipped through Crimea, said Mr. Sergey Rybalko, Vice-President of Ukrainian Association of Potato Producers, at the 7th International Conference «Potatoes & Vegetables of Ukraine-2015».
«Ukraine exported 40,000 tons of potatoes in 2014 with legal exports standing at just 16,000 tons», said Mr. Rybalko. «Despite the ban on imports of Ukrainian potatoes in Russia, it was the Russian Federation that had purchased the largest part of Ukrainian export-quality potatoes shipped through Crimea and Belarus».
The expert also mentioned an increase in exports of Ukrainian potatoes to Georgia and Azerbaijan.
