Idared apple production to go down in Poland

Production of Idared apples is expected to go down in Poland in the current season.

According to WAPA data, Polish growers of Idared apples will harvest about 750,000 tons, a decrease of 5% year-on-year. Nevertheless, despite a slight decline compared with a year before, production of those apples will be one of the highest over the past 10 years.

WAPA experts also say that such a forecast is a preliminary one, and the situation can change in the nearest few weeks.

We would remind you that Idared variety is the most popular one among Polish growers with its share standing at 22% in total apple production in Poland in the season 2014/15.
