Crimea: prices of early white cabbage down week-on-week
Prices of early white cabbage have been decreasing in Crimea, according to Fruit-Inform, and early produce has become averagely a third less expensive week-on-week.
In particular, now prices of early white cabbage vary between RUB 20-25/kg (USD 0.29-0.37/kg) at Krymskiy Privoz Wholesale Market, Simferopol, against no lower than RUB 30/kg (USD 0.44/kg) a week before.
The market experts connect negative price trend with abundant supply of early produce in the peninsula. Early white cabbage is offered by both local farms and wholesale companies from mainland Russia. Meanwhile, sales rates of early produce are moderate: wholesalers and retailers purchase it only for current sales taking into account its limited shelf life.
It should be noted prices of early white cabbage have already reached last year's levels at Simferopol Wholesale Market.
