Ukraine has no plans for lifting restrictions on leather and livestock exports

Interfax Ukraina reported that Ukrainian Premier Kinakh speaking to light industry businesses as of June 5th meeting announced that Ukrainian government has no plans for lifting restrictions for exports of livestock exports and leather raw materials.

The Premier believes that "this is a strategic raw materials which should work for national market and domestic producers."

Kinakh also plans to revise issues of protecting national interests during exports of leather and livestock to countries, which entered into free trade agreements with Ukraine. This issue the Premier wants to resolve "for the benefit of Ukraine."

It was also stated that Ukraine should develop necessary tax conditions so that processing equipment for light industry could be imported at reduced taxation basis.

If VAT tax is cancelled, prices for equipment in question could become more affordable for a Ukrainian buyer.
