UkrExImBank spreading cash for farmers

UkrInform reported that UkrExImBank has loaned above US $75mn to farmers in 2002. The target program adopted in late 2001 allows crediting farmers for purchasing equipment, fieldwork operations, construction, grain storage refurbishing.

Moreover, seasonal loans are available for as long as 12 months focused for tillage, inputs procurement, planting and harvesting operations.

Compared to early 2002 the debts of farmers for loans increased by 34% almost reaching by June 1st US $49mn which is 13% of the bank's loan portfolio.

The bank intents to expand their farm loan portfolio up to 15% because farming operations are under restructuring and more stable operations became available.
