A record number of 150 companies from 19 different countries worldwide participated at this leading event for the Fruit & Vegetable industry in Ukraine, Russia and other CIS Countries. This year 4 official country participations from Chile, Greece, Italy and Lebanon were present.

Among the speakers at the official opening ceremony on Wednesday, November 28th, were Mr. Alessandro Gerbino (Director of ICE, The Trade Promotion Section of the Italian Embassy in Ukraine), Mr. Paul Olziersky (The 1st Secretary of the Embassy of Greece in Economic and Commercial Affairs) and Dr . Hussein Elhajj Hassan (Minister of Agriculture of Lebanon).

Fresh Produce Ukraine 2012 was the host of the ninth specialized conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2012". The conference was attended by 200 conference delegates. During the last day of the conference the successful trade forum took place in which more than 27 retail chains and key importers participated. During the trade forum exporters of Fruits & Vegetables were able to meet face to face with large supermarket chains and key importers.

The Chilean Fresh Fruit Association was once again the main sponsor of the exhibition. During the conference ASOEX will introduced its industry brand ‘Fruits from Chile’ in the Ukraine. ‘Fruits from Chile’ is the brand name under which the Chilean fruit industry promotes itself in the international market place. This is the result of a long private-public collaboration led by the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX) and ProChile (the Trade Commission of Chile).

The Chilean brand strategy is linked to three strategic pillars which supported the creation of the brand: Quality, as it provides safe and varied products in appropriate volumes; Origin, due to the geographic diversity, privileged climate and incomparable characteristics of Chilean fruit production; and Spirit, that refers to the efforts and respect for the land, held by the industry and its workers.

With this successful second edition Fresh Produce Ukraine has further strengthened its position as the Leading event for the entire Fruit & Vegetable industry in Ukraine, Russia and other CIS Countries.
