Poland: Chinese cabbage prices up
The Polish market participants say of a month-on-month increase in prices of Chinese cabbage in the country.
Purchase prices in early December 2013 averaged 0.16 euro/kg. For the present, they vary between 0.23-0.26 euro/kg.
Wholesale prices in the beginning of December 2013 reached 0.28 euro/kg; however, sales were most often conducted at 0.23-0.24 euro/kg. Current wholesale prices vary between 0.32-0.38 euro/kg, depending on size and quality.
The market operators connect an increase in prices with higher purchasing activity of Russian importers and rise in exports to the Russian Federation.
