Ukraine: blueberry prices down
Positive price trend in the Ukrainian blueberry market has changed into negative one this week. According to Fruit-Inform, blueberries have become 10-15% less expensive since the beginning of this week due to exporters' lower demand and an increase in supply.
Prices reached UAH 140-160/kg (USD 6.20-7.10/kg) last week. Current real sales to the internal market operators and exporters are reported at no higher than UAH 120-140/kg (USD 5.30-6.20/kg).
The market analyst connect negative price trend in the Ukrainian market with lower blueberry prices in Russia. Fruit-Inform has already reported that blueberries became less expensive in Russia due to high imports.
At the same time, current prices of Ukrainian blueberries are still 35-40% higher year-on-year. However, growers are sure that prices will be falling until early August with the price decline rates to directly depend on exporters' activity and their prices.
