L. Kozachenko: the State will change the mechanism of compensation of interest rate on commercial credit to agrarians

The State will change the mechanism of partial compensation of interest rate on commercial credit to agriculture producers. Vice-Prime-Minister informed the media about this during extended sitting of Ukrainian Agrarian Federation on November 21.

In his words now a group of experts is working out more improved and rational schemes of compensation of interest rate on using credits. As it was earlier reported the current year measures, which had been taken by the State in order to decrease interest rates to agrarians, weren't so effective because banks were raising rates for using the credits. Thus sum, which was paid by agricultural producers for using the credits, was higher than it had been expected while implementing of partial compensation.

According to Leonid Kozachenko several variants of compensation of interest rate are considered now. Thus interest rate of commercial bank mustn't exceed that bank rate of the Ukrainian National Bank, which amounts 15 percent today.

The second variant foresees differentiated approach to compensation depending on sum of the credit. That is not the part of the interest rate will be compensated, but part of credit which means the more the credit is the more or the less the compensation will be (the experts haven't decide this question yet).

In Leonid Kozachenko's opinion, work on improving of compensation mechanism of percent rate for agrarians will be finished during two next weeks.
