Prices of greenhouse tomatoes up in Poland

Prices of greenhouse tomatoes continue to grow in Poland and have increased by another 9% since the beginning of this week, according to FreshMarket.

Now Polish growers offer their tomatoes at 0.47-0.55 euro/kg, while on Monday minimum prices stood at 0.43 euro/kg.

The Polish market participants connect an increase in prices with lower tomato supply in the country due to cold and rainy weather. Meanwhile, the demand for tomatoes is rather stable now.

It should also be noted that current prices of Polish tomatoes are already 17% higher year-on-year.
