Anti-monopoly committee warns grain traders against anti-competitive actions

Ukraine's Anti-Monopoly Committee (AMK) warns Ukrainian grain traders against anti-competitive actions on the market, stating that it will resort to strict measures should such actions be revealed.

"The committee warns market participants that any anti-competitive actions will be resolutely stopped and the law-breakers will be subjected to strict penal sanctions", reads the AMK press-release with reference to the AMK Head Oleksiy Kostusev.

The release also points out that the Committee cautions the traders first of all against mutually arranged purchasing prices for grains, bought from Ukrainian farmers, and against division of the market according to a territorial principle.

Prices for grain must be established by market - states the Committee - except for the mortgage grain prices, which are determined by the Cabinet of Ministers.
