2002 crop to mortgage

UNIAN reported that next week the Cabinet plans to adopt the mortgage prices for 2002 crop.

According to the Vice-Premier Leonid Kozachenko there are two draft projects regarding imposing mortgage prices for grain purchase. Both projects stipulate for actually similar ways to determine mortgage price where such price is determined by adding 5% profitability to production cost. "If we are to follow this calculation approach we come up with UAH 71-83/MT", said Kozachanko.

He also said that some propose to leave prices, as they were a year ago in 2001 or US $ 81/MT. Nevertheless, the final decision will depend on the evaluation of this issue by experts from Ukrainian Grain Association, National Exchange Association, and agribusiness managers.
