Foot-and-mouth disease case in South Korea

As AK&M reported Russia banned all livestock products imports from Korean republic until the time when all veterinary issues in the country are clarified. Russia's Ministry of Agriculture took such a decision as of May 7th, 2002 according to the Chief Veterinary Deputy Alexander Ponomarev.

This measure was taken due to foot-and-mouth epidemics in Kyonggi province. All previously issued permits for livestock and products imports are cancelled.

Products that has already arrived in Russia and were loaded out before Apr 2, 2002 should be processed under the supervision of the appropriate entities.
