Lend tenure service to strengthen their links

Interfax Ukraina reported that the State Committee on Land Resources experiences too much workload for land tenure service due to land reform and Land Code introduction and calls for strengthening the service as such.

The State Land Resources Committee press release says that President Kuchma as of 1996 issued a decree appointing some 20,000 employees across Ukraine to handle the land issues.

But because of drastic financial cuts in this sector the staff cutback left only 10,500 people employed.

The State Land Resources Committee believes that with proceeds coming from their activity including all kinds of taxes the government can afford more people to take care of the task set by the President especially at the time when workload per person increased dramatically.
