Cattle heard of Ukraine declined while pig's and poultry numbers rose

As of July 1, 2002 livestock herd in Ukraine was 10.3mn, which is 56,000 less than at the same date of past year. Such a decline can be attributed to very low milk prices in Ukraine.

As of the same date there were around 9.42mn pigs in Ukraine, which is 41.3% more if compared with the same date of 2001. Poultry numbers increased by 11.7% during the same period to comprise 186.6mn.
