Ukrainian producers supplied first shipments of raspberry to the inner market

The specialists of CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal inform that the first, small-sized shipments of newly harvested raspberry entered the markets of Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk and other large cities. The producers say that they were able to harvest first shipments of raspberry minimum 10 days earlier than a year ago. This circumstance can be explained by warm winter and hot weather in the end of spring and early summer this year. As a rule, first shipments of raspberry enter the markets in the solstice period, i.e. in the last decade of June.

The volumes of raspberry are still insignificant on market at the present moment, so that the sellers are able to sell the product for a rather high price of $6-20/kg depending on the region and the shipment size. However, to the opinion of the specialists of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" journal, the prices will be reconsidered downwards in line with the increasing supplies of this berry on market.
