Back to century beginning - no problem to sell vegetables in Ukraine, again

CIS produce business periodical, "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly informs, the situation on vegetable market this season reminds us rather the events of 2001-2003 than the market situation in recent 4 years.

The demand for vegetables has been significantly exceeding the supply for the first time in recent years. The supply exceeds the demand to such an extent that the farmers of the regions, which suffered from drought the most severely, inform about the wholesalers' queues just near the fields. The wholesalers take the wholesale shipments of the survived carrot, table beet, potato, onion and other vegetables. Those producers, who are traditionally active to advertise their products on trade floor of Fruit-Inform.com portal, talk about the absence of any problems to sell the produce at the present moment. They also inform, the number of bids significantly exceeds their abilities to supply products.

We'd like to remind that the situation was absolutely opposite in the previous season - the record high production was recorded for almost all vegetable crops, so that the prices were record low. The producers were intensively seeking for those who were willing to purchase their products; as a result, vegetable exports from Ukraine have significantly increased.

You will find out the detailed perspectives of fruit and vegetable prices in December to June period in Ukraine during the fourth international conference "Fruits and Vegetables of Ukraine 2007. Meeting New Leader", to be held on December 4th-6th 2007 on the territory of the National Complex "Expocenter of Ukraine" in Kyiv.
