Hazelnut imports decline in Ukraine

The analysts of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" weekly inform, hazelnut imports to Ukraine have tended to decline in recent years. According to the estimations of the experts, around 2,000 tons of hazelnut were imported to the country in 2007 - or 23% as less than in 2006. The volumes of hazelnut imports also significantly declined in 2006.

The experts think, Ukraine has all opportunities to build up the own production of hazelnut; there is information about first commercial plantings of this nut in our country. Hazelnut meets stable demand on the global markets and in Ukraine - global market often suffers from the deficit of this product.
