Ukraine banned cattle imports from Luxemburg due to "mad cow disease"

Ukraine's State Customs Service directed a letter to all regional customs offices, informing of a ban of cattle and of cattle meat imports from Luxemburg, because of cases of spongiform encephalopathy, detected in that country.

Chief Veterinary Medicine Inspector of Ukraine Petro Verbytsky informed customs officers that International Epizootic Bureau registered in Luxemburg a case of spongiform encephalopathy, otherwise known as "mad cow disease".
