Russia: fruit and vegetable produce rises in prices
From the beginning of the year, inflation in Russia has totaled 12.3%. According to data of the Russian State Statistics committee, during the same period of the last year, consumer price index increased by 10.3%. From the beginning of November, price increase has totaled 0.6%, and is expected that by the end of the month this index would vary in the range of 0.7-0.8%. During the last week, prices for consumer commodities increased by 0.2%.
During the last week, prices for fruit and vegetable produce increased by 0.3%. Prices for cabbage and potatoes increased by 1.2% and 0.5%, respectively. Prices for onion decreased by 0.4%.
According to the forecast of the Ministry of economic development, annual price increase will total 13.4 – 13.5 %. In 2007, the inflation level totaled 11.9% that was the highest possible index since 2003 (the price growth was equal 12%).
