Ukraine: tinned cucumbers remain the most popular produce
As Ukrainian processors reported, cucumbers remain the most popular produce in the preservation segment. Despite the general demand decrease for preserved vegetables, demand on this produce remained stably high. According to the information provided by the specialists of Fruit-Inform project, at the moment many enterprises have already sold larger part of processed cucumbers and the ending stocks are already contracted.
Tatiana Getman, reported that consumption of tinned cucumbers remains the highest among the assortment of processed vegetables. According to estimations, share of cucumbers in the whole volume of purchased raw material totals 50-60 %. High demand for tinned cucumbers is caused by production decrease. The same reason is for price increase by 1.5-2 times.
