Berry cooling and quality preservation as a challenge for new Ukrainian season

The previous berry season in Ukraine resulted in a fall in strawberry prices against a background of insignificant exports and domestic supermarkets' low interest in those fruits due to failure in delivery of Ukrainian berries in acceptable quality and high competition with imported produce.

This is precisely why the special attention at the 5th Anniversary International Conference “Berries of Ukraine-2014: Frozen Produce & Fresh Market” will be given to issues of berry storage and quality preservation.

The subject of post-harvest cooling of berries will be presented by Mr. Sergey Tonkonog, Marketing Department Director at Astra Ltd., the leader in this sector in Ukraine.

The question of introduction of modern long-term storage technologies for berries in Ukraine will be covered by the presentation of Mr. Frank Boeijen, Representative of Roseta Agro, Netherlands.

In addition, the conference program includes the subjects of berry growing technologies, crop protection, fruit and berry handling and processing methods. A special attention will also be given to the berry market outlook, sales and marketing.

Thus the conference delegates will receive a whole range of information on the berry market (from investments to sales) as well as get acquainted with practical berry business experience during the business-tour to Podillya Ltd. on the second day.

We would remind you that the conference will be held on May 22-23, 2014, Vinnytsia, Ukraine, with a number of participants expected to reach 200 delegates from 10-12 countries of the world.

The conference program, conditions of participation, advertising opportunities, sponsorship packages and application form are available on the official web-site.

The conference delegates can book accommodation in the hotel of Feride Plaza, which hosts the event. Accommodation costs are not included in the conference fee. More information is available here.
