Strawberry prices in Ukraine half as high as in Poland

Sellers at Bronisze Wholesale Market, Warsaw, Poland, say of arrival of first quantities of domestic greenhouse strawberries. Current prices of Polish strawberries are averagely 50% higher year-on-year and twice as high as quoted in neighboring Ukraine.

According to Fruit-Inform daily price monitoring, now Polish growers offer strawberries at 4.27-4.88 euro/kg against 2.40-3.90 euro/kg a year before.

The supply of strawberries is still limited in Poland due to cold spring, which results in such high prices. At the same time, the situation will most likely change in the nearest days, as growers plan to start harvesting of strawberries in low tunnels in the end of this week.

We would remind you that strawberry prices have halved in neighboring Ukraine over the past weekend, and now strawberries are offered at 2.20-2.60 euro/kg there.
