Ukraine: fresh produce price index up last week

Fruit-Inform Ukrainian fresh produce price index has grown by 4.2% in the week from November 14th to 20th, after two weeks of a slight decrease. As a result, the price index has cumulatively gone up by 63.8% over the past eight weeks.

«All main fresh produce categories became more expensive last week, except potatoes», says Ms. Tetiana Getman, Head of Fruit-Inform. «Fruit prices grew by 3.7%, traditional vegetables became 4.5% more expensive, and prices of greenhouse vegetables went up by 5.9%».

A significant increase of 16.7% in apple prices should especially be noted. Orange prices also went up due to arrival of new more expensive crop in the Ukrainian market.
