Livestock production in Russia. What's new?

AgroFakt reported that according to Russian State Standard Committee livestock industry this Feb has 27.8 mn of heads, which is 0.8% less over past year's.

Pork production though goes up. Pigs populations grew by 2,5%, whereas sheep and goats grew in number by only 0.3%. Statistics said that milk yields per cow grew by 13.5%, egg laying grew by 4.3% averagely.

Feed is the paramount factor here. This past January feed production was 643,000 MT, which is lower than past December but higher than January a year ago by 0.4%. Totally, Russia's supply of feed this past February was 6% higher over the previous year.
