Combine fleet losing units
APK-Inform reported that combine harvesters fleet lost 4,200 units over the year or dropped 7% from last year. Moreover, feed choppers decreased in number by 3,700 units or 12%. Grain cleaning and drying equipment units decreased similarly.
With forecasted 95% of readiness of harvesting equipment for future harvest it will serve the needs of only 1/3 of the territory in terms of timely harvesting with the rest of the territory to be harvested twice as long as needed. This will create additional 40-50 extra days of harvesting and will lead to large losses of the crop 2002.
