Slavutych. Domestic harvesters hungry for taking care of Ukrainian crops

UkrInform reported that up to 300 grain harvesters Slavutych KZS-9-1 per year could be manufactured at open JSC Khersonski Kombayny in case the financing from the government will be around US $ 9.4mn. If this happens the combine price will decrease from US $85,000 down to US $75,000. This information has been released by the Kherson Combine factory marketing manager Andriy Manhushev.

The capacity of the factory is up to 1000 units annually but only 130 units have been completed a year ago and a mere 30 units this year. Presently some 100 machines sit unassembled for a simple reason - low buying power of the farmer and low capital of the factory.

The first Slavutych has been made in 1998 with 80% of parts produced in Ukraine being the country's newest brand of combines.
