Information for fruit and vegetables business in CIS
In Uzhgorod the seminar "Market information, marketing, agricultural technologies and the perspective for fruit and vegetable market development in Zakarpattya" was conducted
On the 9th of February 2005 the seminar "Market information, marketing, agricultural technologies and the perspective for fruit and vegetable market development in Zakarpattya" was conducted in Uzhgorod for 70 participants including 47 farmers, representatives of processing enterprises and other organizations.
In the seminar the market analysis for fruit and vegetable commodities in 2004 and plans for market development in 2005 were presented; the peculiarities of AMP market information system and the results of marketing season 2004 were enlightened, as well as the practical results of AMP demosite activities in 2004, etc.
In this seminar the specialists of Zakarpattya and Kyiv offices took an active part. As a specially invited person Victoria Sorokopud, the representative of the informational agency "APK-Inform" made a report to the participants about the activities of the company and the advantages the market players may have in case of cooperation with APK-Inform and market information usage.
Mikhail Divinets, the farmer from Uzhgorod rayon, shared the experience gained during his study tour to Poland organized and conducted by AMP in 2004. Vasiliy Voloshyn, the farmer from the Mukachevo rayon, told about the successful experience of growing cucumber on trellis.
The farmers were very interested in the reports made by the representatives of the processing enterprises - they told about the needs of canneries and the terms of cooperation with the farmers. Besides, the computer model specially developed by the specialists of Agricultural Marketing Project was presented to the producers, so that they could define the most profitable types of commodities for production and plan the production and sales on purpose to get the maximum profit.
The seminar participants received the detailed materials about the discussed topics in the form of special manuals where the information about the production technologies for the most popular crops, the information about the input suppliers for farmers and contact information of the oblast processing enterprises are gathered.
Already on Friday, on the 11th of February, Zakarpattya AMP office will conduct the same seminar in Vinogradiv, as there is a huge interest to this information from the side of fruit and vegetable market players.
