"Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" and AMP to Participate in The World's Largest Produce Exhibition in Berlin

On the 2nd - 4th of February 2006 the weekly journal "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" together with the Agricultural Marketing Project (AMP) will represent the Ukrainian produce business in Berlin at "Fruit Logistica", the largest international produce exhibition in the world. Specialists from the periodical are quick to point out that foreign companies and potential investors are showing intense interest in the Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market; as they are continually inquiring to the journal for information about the largest producers, processors and especially trade companies, operating in the produce business. In addition, they are also searching for reports on the market situation and the possibilities of gaining market entrance.

During the exhibition, representatives of "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" and AMP specialists will meet with large foreign companies participating in the fruit and vegetable wholesale trade and suppliers of produce storage, handling, packing and processing equipment for the purpose of outlining opportunities of mutually beneficial cooperation. Presently, some foreign companies are interested in opportunities to purchase early vegetables and berry commodities, and also such seasonal produce as peaches, nectarines, sweet and sour cherries, tomatoes, and bell peppers, to name a few. The weekly journal received information that some foreign vegetable growers will enter the Ukrainian market as the producers this year, as some companies are considering the idea to lease land in the southern and central regions of Ukraine for the purpose of intensive vegetable, fruit and berry growing.

It is satisfying to see that Ukrainian companies are not just standing on the sidelines when it comes to the improving the condition of the fruit and vegetable industry. This will be a unique chance where several large fruit and vegetable wholesale companies trading and successful producers will all be visiting this famous exhibition at the same time. We can hope that in 2006 Ukraine will be able to increase significantly its fruit and vegetable exports and attract a great deal of investment to the industry. "Agrooglyad: Vegetables and Fruits" will prepare a detailed report about the exhibition and also provide information about the interest level of foreign companies and the potential investors in the Ukrainian produce market. You can read more about this event in one of the February issues of the weekly journal.
