AMP conducts a seminar session for vegetable producers oriented on processing
At request of the regional processing enterprises Poltava AMP office started a seminar session focused on vegetable production for processing needs. Two similar meetings have been conducted by the end of December 2005: one for GLOBUS cannery in Globino, and the other one for "Babusyny resepty" LLC in Myrgorod rayon. More than sixty producers participated in the mentioned events. Input suppliers: Nunhems Ukraine, Agrimatco Ukraine also took part in the seminars.
Oleg Smolka, the Specialist of Poltava AMP office, believes that due to the seminars the producers are provided with some theoretical material, and the practical questions on the resources purchase can be solved. In particular, this year we improved the format of our events. On each seminar the input supply companies make presentations and, at AMP request, establish a stand with the samples of their products and the contact information on where and how to buy the resources. As in the previous season, Poltava AMP office focuses attention on work with small farms which produce about 75% of raw materials for the processing enterprises. At the same time, the yield and production levels remain rather low at these farms. Thanks to such events, joint efforts are aimed at new producers' groups development and the involvement of new market players to the oblast produce market. Poltava office plans to conduct another 3-4 seminars on this topic in March and April 2006.
